Instructions:
Attach the lock to the vehicle, connect it to the zipper on the tarp, set up two poles and tension them – done. You can also set it up on your own, that’s no problem.

What our The Wildside Campervan Tarp offers you
With a total surface area of almost 20 m², the campervan tarp offers plenty of protection from sun, wind and rain. The awning can be set up individually - the side sections can be rolled up, stretched horizontally or downwards.
The tarp fabric is made of high-quality, tear-resistant nylon fabric, triple silicone coating and reinforced guy points - made to withstand wind and rain.
The UV-resistant silicone coating ensures that the tarp is impermeable to light, so that it provides decent shade even on hot, sunny days. All seams of the awning are sealed to keep you dry even in the rain.

We are Florian & Marcel from Bern in Switzerland, the founders of The Wildside Campervan Tarps.
Perhaps you are experiencing the same thing as we did 6 years ago. We had bought a VW T6.
An awning was out of the question for us for several reasons. Driving around with a black box on the side of the vehicle wasn't our thing. A sun blind can be extended in no time at all, but we were also bothered by the fact that it didn't offer enough shade. And if you don't take the time to unhook it, it will lie bent and broken on the roof of the vehicle in the next storm.
That's why we looked for an alternative. We couldn't find anything on the market that met our expectations. So we tried out various options.
The old Hilleberg tarp was dug out of the cellar, a few poles were put together and we gave it a try. But somehow that wasn't quite right either. Too fiddly, too complicated and not stable enough. We didn't want our vacation to start with half a nervous breakdown
We needed a sewing machine, a piece of kite fabric and, without further ado, we sewed a tarp ourselves to suit our needs. The first prototype was born - and we were thrilled. Our awning wasn't perfect yet, but it gave us the weather protection we wanted and was small to pack

We looked for a product designer who specializes in high-quality textile processing and improved our prototype with all our ideas and visions until our high demands were met.

Frequently asked questions
The tarp is 3m wide and x 6.5m long.
The tarp is made of 80D ripstop nylon, 3x silicone coated, waterproof and UV resistant. The water column was measured at 10,000mm.
The vehicle unit/lock (with 5 attachment points for suction cups and two integrated keders for 5.5mm, 7.5mm and 11.5mm keder rails – the most common sizes on the market) which is attached to your vehicle has a length of 2.5m and a width of 26cm. Your vehicle should therefore have a roof length of at least 2.5m.
The poles are height-adjustable between 186-214 cm.
We intentionally designed The Wildside Campervan Tarp to fit all campervans. However, a roof length of at least 2.5m (8.2 ft) should be provided for optimal bracing.
It can be pulled into a C-rail (also known as piping) with 5.5mm, 7.5mm, or both together into an 11.5 piping rail or alternatively attached with suction cups or to the vehicle rims.
You can build it on your own, it’s not a problem. You attach the lock to the vehicle, connect it to the zipper on the tarp, set up two poles and tension them – done. With a little practice, you’ll be done in less than 5 minutes. The following link will take you to an assembly guide with tips & tricks. For all the set-up options we propose, 4 poles are enough, even for the “stand alone” position. Since the high-quality rods are very expensive to buy and, accordingly, the selling price of the set would increase with additional rods, we decided to buy 4 rods. Nevertheless, we offer you the option of buying additional poles, because with two additional poles you naturally have even more options and flexibility.
On the lock it has 5 loops to attach the suction cups. For stable hold, 3 of them should be attached with a suction cup. You can easily use your own for this.
We are convinced that you will also be as enthusiastic about our tarp as we are. If it is still not satisfactory to you, you can return it within 60 days from the date of delivery and we will give you a full refund. In addition, our warranty covers all quality problems under normal use for two years from the date of delivery. During this period, we will replace any parts of your The Wildside Tarp set that do not function as intended.
